5 Months with Friends!!

Quintiya made a trip to see us at the beginning of the month. We had so much fun with her. Here is Jason and Coco in from of Torii Mor Vineyard after our first wine tasting. How cool do they look in their Wayfares? They quite possibly could have been the only two people wearing sunglasses in the whole state.

This is our friend Nick. We have told many of you about him. He was over the other night for Pizza and the Trail Blazers game. That's right Papa Todd, this is Lincoln watching the basketball game on TV rather than looking at the camera. Nick has been a great friend to us since we got to Oregon. He has cooked us meals, let us borrow is sweet conversion van and been a great friend in the program to Jason. He is also a part of Navigators so he shares our love for Colorado Springs. Ladies he is single so if you are interested in this 20 something please let us know!

Mom and Lincoln before one of our crisp walks around the neighborhood. Maryellen got me these ear-warmers, and I love them. There is a BOW on the side! Lincoln is all bundled up in his sweat-suit Great Grandma and Grandpa Bacon got him for Christmas. Luckily it fits him now, as he is wearing 9 month clothing!!! (and we thought we were starving him)

Lincoln chillin' with is jungle friends!

So since I have become a mom and gone back to work I have slacked on my household chores. The only way that I could put Lincoln's laundry away was for him to be in there with me. Here is Lincoln sitting in the glidder playing with his lamb while I do my chores!! Side note, Jason has excelled in his chores, and he is the one getting his doctorate and staying home with Lincoln! I just want to express my gratitude for Jason and not implementing "the bag" rule that my parents had to when we left our stuff around the house, what a nice husband!

Lincoln loves sitting on Jason's lap like this. Oliver however does not. Oliver plopped is 70lb butt on Jason to create a barrier between him and Lincoln. Leave it to oliver to remind Jason who his true best friend is!

We thought this was a good idea. Lincoln thought he was such a big boy. Laundry basket has been sitting on the china hutch for 2 days as Holli just took the dry cleaning in and hasn't put it away. In my defense how could I take these cute pictures of everything is put away!

Lincoln will be 5 months old tomorrow and we can not believe it. Oh my gosh how time fly's! We have been so blessed with so many visitors and our counting down our next visit from Taunty Katie in T minus 2 1/2 weeks!!! ( just some military jargon there for all of you) Jason's spring semester has begun and I am slowly but surely finishing up my licensing for work! Keep us in your prayers the next couple months, we have learned that life doesn't slow down it just seems to keep speeding up, but oh how we are enjoying the journey*!

First Snow/ First shoulder ride

Our first snow storm in Oregon. I left work at 3:30 and didn't get home until 6:30. It is only a 10 mile drive, but the roads were covered in ice so it was slow going. Here is the view from our front door.
Lincoln's 1st shoulder ride. He is wearing his bukaroo outfit Great G&G Bacon got him. The socks look like cowboy boots.

As for the botty... a horse shoe!

Diaper Duty

Last weekend we traveled to the local mall (Lloyd Center) so Holli could get some new makeup. Like the good husband I am I took the boy to change his diaper. The bathroom was full of old men making a lot of noise, luckily the changing table was not in a stall. I began changing Links diaper and had the new one in hand. He began peeing so I quickly covered the water-gun before getting too much pee on me. I then threw both diapers away and went back to get a third diaper , but lo and behold there were no more diapers. I contemplated getting the diaper out of the trash because it was not too wet. I decided against this due to the smell, stank, and filth of public restroom trash receptacles. I also thought about stuffing paper towel in his onesie like a make shift hill-billy diaper. The paper dispenser was broke and I worried about chaffing so on to plan C. I buttoned the onesie over Link (button a onesie on a boy going commando is more difficult than you would think). I then went on an excursion through the mall to find another diaper. I was fearful of asking a stranger for a diaper because they would pass judgement about my parent abilities. I passed one man sitting outside of gymboree with his baby. I walked back and forth three times before working up the nerve to ask for a diaper. His english was broken (russian i believe) and he left the diaper bag in his car. He said i could follow him out there but fearing he might be a member of the russian mob i returned to my pampered wife in Macy's. By this point Holli had asked a passer-by for a diaper and i went hurriedly to the bathroom to change Link (still hasnt peed yet). Sadly the bathroom was closed for cleaning. I hurried to the fitting room to try and change him there. With no help from the fantastic Portlanders customer service (manners are not a priority). Changed him on the lap in the fitting room (Bench barely fits my ass). I vow to never go out in public again!
