Lincoln and Dad have been hanging out at home together. Lincoln has learned how to roll over (tummy to back - Left only). These pictures were made when he was working on a load on the couch. This blog would be longer but I cannot stand the smell.

Merry Christmas

Grandma Mitchell came out over finals week to help us out while Jason was extra busy finishing up his semester at school. We had so much fun with her.

Every Chirstmas in Portland a organization called Chrismas Ships decorate their boats for Christmas and sail around the harbor. It was one of the coolest things that I have ever seen at Christmas time. We counted 25 boats in all!!

Here is Lincoln all bundled up to watch the boats. Please note the added mittens Mom found since our last winter outing. He was our little lobster.

Santa brought Lincoln's present from Grammy and Grandpa Bacon a little early. Still a little overwhelming, but Lincoln loves his new jungle friends.

Christmas morning...Lincoln didn't really get what was going on, but he sure was cozy in his "Baby's 1st Christmas Jammies."

Favorite gift of all... John Deere cowboy boots from Uncle Al and Aunt Lora. As you can see the boots also grabed the attention of Oliver.

Thanks for the Santa hat Tanner and Staci. Lincoln really appriciates all your seasonal givings!

Jason and I felt so blessed this Christmas to be together as a family. It was definatly hard not to be around our families. Thank you to everyone who made this Christmas feel so special. Lincoln was a little spoiled by all of his Aunts, Uncles, Great Aunts and Uncles, Grandparents and Great - Grandparents! We hope your season was as merry and bright as ours was.

The Grinch goes tree shopping

The Grinch (a.k.a. Lincoln and Jason depending on the time of day). Time 1: Lincoln in a blissful slumber. It was the coldest day here in Oregon but the sun was shining -- go figure. Lincoln was wearing his ski sweater, fleece jacket, and bundle me. He slept through the entire hunt. Jason was less than thrilled to go find a tree or to decorate. You see all I can think about is what a pain in the butt it will be to get the tree, set it up, and tear it down in Jan. when it is dead and sheds all over the house. Sadly Holli lives in la la land where everything is gay, merry, and bright.

Time 2: They charge for trees by the foot and we could only afford a 6-7 foot doug fur. Of course there are no more of these trees left on the lot. After 10 minutes of looking Holli went to the warming shack and left Jason (now you see why I love doing this) to find this elusive fur! I gave up a couple minutes later but we chopped this tree down, 2 ft off the ground (illegal move), for my friend Mike - shown here (wife also in shed). I opted for a pre-cut tree in the affordable range.

Time 3: Workers can cut, shake, and bale your tree. They load it on the car via drive through service. This day is looking better, at the moment, for Jason . For Lincoln on the other hand, he is slowly waking up, and now wants all this cold weather crap off HIS FACE!!!

Shaker slash baler - pretty sweat operation

Time 4: Luckily the adventure includes a holiday bazaar full of fun. They sell antiques from the early 1990's and other assorted gems like used ash trays. Wreaths and center pieces with fake snow also available.

Time 5: Lincoln with Santa. Santa either joined Jenny Craig or the elfs are peddling crack, either way he needed more cookies and milk in his diet. Take a tip from Lincoln -- "milk is great LOOK AT MY CHUBBY FACE!!!"

Time 6: "Thanks dad but I am not sure who the bigger ASS is you or Andrew." We are slowly working our way to really pissing Lincoln off with cutesy pictures --- just wait for what comes next!

Time 7: (Jason and Lincoln both angry) Holli removes baby Jesus from the manger scene and replaces him with Lincoln. While she debates whether or not this is sacrilegious Jason moves to the other end of the bazaar trying desperately to locate a new less embarrassing family. Shortly after Lincoln gets out of the manger 2 four year olds crawl in following Holli's lead; they were yelled at by there more responsible mother.

Merry Christmas from Jason and Lincoln!!! "MOM IS THIS HOW YOU HOPED THIS DAY WOULD TURN OUT!?!?!"

Thanksgiving with Bacon!!

Dad, Sue and Adam joined us in Newberg for Thanksgiving. We had a blast. Lincoln enjoyed Grandpa "squeezing him", Grammy Sue rocking him, and Uncle Adam bopping his nose (this is where Adam tickles his belly and then bops his nose). While in Oregon we took in some of the gorgeous sights. While my poor husband stayed home and studied we all went to Cannon Beach.
It is rather interesting being at the beach when it is about 40 degrees and humid outside. We were cold. The tide was out so we got to walk right up to Haystack rock. Look familiar to anyone... there was a scene from the Goonies filmed on this beach.

Here is my Dad in his Oregon gear hiking out to the rock. Can anyone find Adam in the picture. He was very interested in the Star fish that was in between the rocks and didn't turn around for the picture. Grammy Sue, Lincoln and I didn't walk all the way out to the rock. I thought I would try to be a little more responsible this beach trip, and not drop my baby, so we stayed safely on the shore... away from slippery rocks, or logs for that matter.

Now Jason is home with Lincoln while I am working hard at the bank. One day when I got home and asked what him, Lincoln and Oliver did all day he replied "oh, we just played circus." What is circus you might ask. Circus is a game where Jason holds Lincoln by the butt and asks our 3 month old son to "hold in his core" while Jason dances around the room with him singing "circus, circus, circus" while moving his arm back and forth. The fun really starts when Oliver thinks that Jason is dangling Lincoln out as a chew toy for him. Don't worry Jason hasn't dropped him yet, Lincoln actually has a pretty advanced "core" if you ask me.

Uncle Adam, Lincoln and I went to VOODOO doughtnut before cropping Adam off at the airport. The doughnut you see Adam enjoying has Captain Crunch on top, and if you look really closely you can see that it also has crunch berries. Voodoo is famous for their doughnut concoctions, one of the more famous, maple doughnut with bacon on top mmmmm.

Long story short, Lincoln loves seeing family, and loves even more that he never has to sleep in his crib while they are here. They will just hold him and hold him and hold him. Luckily I am the one that feeds him, so I at least get my hands on him for 15 minutes every 3 hours!!
Unfortunately Jason does not get to hold him much when family is around...maybe it is the inappropriate "tricks" he performs.

Unexpected Trip to Colorado...

On November 15th we received an unexpected phone call that Jason's best friend and a groomsmen in our wedding, Spencer Miller was killed in a car accident. Jason and I were heart broken and headed to Colorado for the services. Spencer was like a family member to the whole Mitchell family and his parents are good friends of Todd and Maryellen. Spencer was a cowboy and loved the Lord. Jason and Spencer grew up together and were roommates at Colorado State. Spencer's heart was always for helping people. When Lincoln made his unexpected entrance to this world 1 month early, Spencer, with Jason's brothers and dad, moved us to Oregon. Yes Spencer dropped everything loaded up our life, drove it 2500 miles across the country, then unloaded our life! That was the man that he was. He had a huge heart and an even bigger smile. Jason and I know that he is with our Lord and Savior and are so grateful that we will see him again.

Here are some of the moments we got to share with our families...

Here is Lincoln with his "Unlcle" Scott.

Lincoln hugging Aunt Lora.

Lincoln with Papa Todd... I love rockin' with you Papa!!

Ps have you been working out

Lincoln with Papa Gary. Who's got better hair?

Lincoln and Grandpa at Village Inn (VI). Not too sure about the hat on my head?

Jason , Lincoln and I had a great time in Colorado. Lincoln is a regular jet setter now. We were so grateful for all the sentiments that we received and were so grateful to spend time with our families.

Here's our little man, the penguin sweater seemed fitting for his Colorado trip. Thanks for picking it out Grammy Sue and Grandpa Scott.

Happy Vetrain's Day

Lincoln would like to show his gratitude to the men and women serving our country. He is especially grateful for his Aunt Katie who is a lieutenant in the US Navy! Thanks Aunt Katie for all you do, it makes me feel so safe and happy.

Lincoln and Daddy cozy as can be!

Bacon in Portland

Tanner and Lincoln in their Bronco Orange!!
No shave November is right, Uncle Tanner .

Airplane with Uncle Tanner!

The Bacon's and Lincoln at the Rose Garden.

NFL countdown on Sunday morning. Lincoln was so into it that he couldn't pause to look at the camera, pretty hard core I'd say.

Tanner and Staci have arrived and are meeting Lincoln for the first time.

A stop at Starbucks on 23rd St in the Alphabet District.
